Day of Infamy - The Limited EditionArtist: Anthony Saunders | Copies: 350The Limited Edition - Day of InfamyThis moving print was painted to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
On the morning of Sunday December 7th 1941, the Japanese launched their infamous attack on Pearl Harbor. The Surprise was complete, and within a few terrifying minutes, the bombs and torpedoes had damaged or destroyed much of the anchored US Pacific Fleet and most of the fighters on the ground. But as Aichi D-3A dive bombers target the Fleet's flagship, the Battleship California, a lone P-40 managed to get airborne and engages the enemy. Of the many thousands of US soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen that witnessed the dreadful spectacle on December 7th, just a handful remain with us today. We are honored that two veterans - who were in action on Battleship Row aboard the USS Tennessee (sister ship of the California) - have personally signed each print endorsing this dramatic edition.
